Roça Monte Café was once São Tomé's largest coffee producer, founded in 1858 and set high in the central mountains where the air runs noticeably cooler than the coast. This private shore excursion takes you there and back within your ship's window in port, with a route that flexes around your confirmed tender time.
This São Tomé shore excursion climbs into the Mé-Zóchi highlands to Roça Monte Café, a working coffee estate at roughly 700 metres altitude that was once the country's largest coffee producer. A guided walk through the historic buildings, the old workers' quarters, and the coffee museum housed in the restored warehouse ends with a tasting of the estate's own coffee. It's one of the most popular heritage sites on the island, and a genuinely different pace from the coastal cruise-terminal tours most passengers take.

Cruise ships do not dock in São Tomé harbour. They anchor around 1 km offshore and use ship's boats to bring passengers ashore. Queues to board those tenders are common, so your ship's time in port is not always the same as your time on land.
That is why every cruise tour is flexible. If your tender is delayed, we adjust the route around the time you actually have, without rushing you through stops for two-minute photo breaks.
